Jacques deLisle, a fellow at the Institute of Corean-American Studies, talked about about security issues with the Korean peninsula. The dispute over areas of the South China Sea, with China, Vietnam, and the Philippines claiming ownership over the area, was contributing to the tensions in the region raised by North Korea’s nuclear tests. Professor deLisle talked about the dispute and its implications for American national security. He was then joined by a panel of discussants.
“Will East/South China Sea Be Boiling?” was a presentation at the ICAS Winter Symposium titled “Humanity, Peace and Security - The Korean Peninsula Issues and US National Security” held by the ICAS Liberty Foundation in the Rayburn House Office Building.
