Panelists talked about the impact on the economy of domestic workers, the majority of whom are immigrants. They also discussed the challenges and opportunities specific to this group because these types of jobs are largely unregulated. Topics included health and safety, benefits, and the need for increased awareness of this type of work and strong standards and regulations. 
“Domestic workers” are individuals employed in homes to care for children, the elderly, or the disabled.
