Auto industry representatives and regulators talked about efforts to improve fuel efficiency. Gina McCarthy said that the auto industry was on schedule to meet higher fuel efficiency requirements set to take effect by 2025. Rebecca Lindland said that her research company’s latest forecast predicts a drop in auto sales due to trends among younger car buyers.
This event was part of a National Journal Live forum entitled: “Affordable Mobility: A Roadmap to Energy Efficiency.” It was held in the Caucus Room of the Cannon House Office Building with the support of the Washington Auto Show.
