Panelists talked about international efforts to regulate the Internet, their opposition to government regulation of the Internet, and ways the U.S. can further engage in this issue. They also shared their experiences after attending the World Conference on International Telecommunications (WCIT) held in Dubai December 2012. The U.S., along with 55 other countries, voted against a treaty that would give governments more control over the Internet.
“Some Countries Want the UN to Regulate the Internet. So, What’s the Problem?” was a panel of the Innovation Policy Summit held during the International CES, a show sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association January 8-11, 2013, in Las Vegas.
