Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner testified about a proposed fee on large financial institutions, commonly referred to as the bank tax. He urged Congress to impose a 10-year, $90 billion fee on the institutions to recoup the costs of rescuing them from failure in 2008.

This hearing was the second of two hearings on President Obama’s proposed fee on financial institutions. The program identification number for the first hearing is 293082-1. close
