John Maxwell Hamilton talked about his book Journalism’s Roving Eye: A History of American Foreign Reporting (Louisiana State University Press; September 14, 2009).In his book veteran former foreign correspondent John Maxwell Hamilton provides a definitive history of American foreign news reporting. He chronicles the economic and technological advances that have influenced overseas coverage, as well as the personalities who have shaped readers' perceptions of the world. Dean of the Manship School of Mass Communications at Louisiana State University, Hamilton also served at the U.S. Agency for International Development and on staff at the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
