Electoral Scoreboard

Mr. Todd spoke about the latest state-by-state polling information. He also discussed recent court decision in Florida that allows Democrats to nominate a replacement candidate in the 22nd Congressional district. The original Democratic candidate, Jim Stork, withdrew from the race because of heart problems. Florida Secretary of State Glenda Hood, a Republican, ruled that the Democrats could not replace Stork on the ballot because Mr. Stork withdrew from the race after the filing deadline for candidates. Democrats in Florida are considering nominating Peter Deutsch, but Ms. Hood has announced her intention to appeal the judge's decision. Mr. Todd also discussed the recent Senatorial debate in Louisiana and its impact on the Senate race there. He also spoke about the race for governor in Washington and the Senate campaign in Oregon.
