      <description>Governor Bobby Jindal (R-LA) addressed a joint session at the opening of the Louisiana State Legislature's 2013 session at the State House in Baton Rouge. Father Bayhi gave the invocation and the Presentation of Colors was by Baton Rouge Fire Department. Governor Jindal laid out his top priorities for Louisiana. He withdrew his plan for eliminating state income tax in favor of sales taxes, but raised the problem of many people leaving the state for better opportunities elsewhere.

      <title>Massachusetts Republican Senate Primary Debate</title>
      <description>Republican candidates to fill former Massachusetts Senator John Kerry's seat held a primary debate. All three, former U.S. Attorney Michael Sullivan, State Representative Daniel Winslow, and businessman Gabriel Gomez endorsed repealing the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act. They had differences on abortion rights and the right of states to ban same-sex marriage. 
The primary election would be April 30, 2013, and the special election would be June 25, 2013.

      <title>Ernie Pyle Library</title>
      <description>Eileen O'Connell, manager of the Special Collections Library, toured the home and library of World War II correspondent "champion of the common man" Ernie Pyle. The home retains many original features from Pyle's time and memorabilia about his life. The home itself was left to the city after with specific intent for it to be used as the city's library. Ms. O'Connell also talked about Ernie Pyle's work and the impact of his writings, including some of his original works from the Special Collections Library.

      <title>Coronado State Monument</title>
      <description>Scott Smith talked about the history of the Coronado State Monument and about conquistador and explorer Francisco VÃ¡squez de Coronado. Coronado, with 300 soldiers and 800 Indian allies from New Spain, was looking for the fabled Seven Cities of Gold and instead found villages inhabited by prosperous native people from the area. This is New Mexico's first state park. Although named after Coronado, it is also an archaelogical site featuring a pueblo settlement dating back to 1300.
